Are you prepared?

APB Consulting Solutions has recently updated and improved our Safety Coordinator program. While the core lessons and content have stayed the same, the methods of instruction have been modified to be more efficient. Our Modern Micro Model (M3) provides an adaptable blue print for teaching any safety subject in under 45 minutes. Your organization will choose three safety topics that are relevant to your profession and certify your designated trainer or team to teach those topics back to the rest of the employees. The designated trainer receives a trainer guide that provides detailed outlines, guided questions, and tools for measuring retention.

From Scott:

”
The best way for organizations to prepare for emergencies is through repetitive training.  We have to train if we are going to take safety seriously.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Develop leaders
  • Realistic observation techniques
  • Effective communication skills
  • Methods of verbal de-escalation
  • Understanding the benefits of developing a plan
  • How to conduct assessments

Course Information:

  • Two day workshop
  • Understanding how your physical environment effects your safety
  • Being aware of the threats you face because of the type of business or organization you are
  • Knowing the warning signs of work place violence
  • Understanding when and how to report concerning behavior
  • How to store and apply tourniquets
  • Active aggressor response planning
  • Safe room operation and design
  • Mental health counseling
  • Post event info sharing

The first part of the training will involve watching a 5-7 minute video on the designated safety topic. After the video concludes there will be a brief, five question quiz for the participants to complete.

The second portion is review and discussion based. Print outs slides from the video are available. The trainer should help staff
members involved in the exercise define four skills to be articulated for resolving the problem: recognition, response,  mitigation, and recovery.

The remaining portion of the M3 training is a walk through exercise. Employees will walk through their environment and discuss the safety topic covered in the lesson. This helps employees review their everyday space through the lens of safety and security.
